This is a vintage cast iron American Bald Eagle wall plaque recently found in a barn in Litchfield County, Connecticut. This piece has no maker's name but has a number "78" etched on its back surface. Unsure if that's the year it was made or a model number of some sort. Distinctive piece depicts an eagle with outstretched wings, looking to his right, perched on what looks like a ledge that is draped with bunting or draping. Measures approximately 7 inches tall and is approximately... 5 1/3" wide at widest point (tips of wings.) Is approximately 1" deep at deepest point. Piece is black and cast iron, I believe; seems to heavy to be cast metal. Love the detail; feather types, talons on feet, and lines in the draping. Has two holes to screw into wall; screws not included. Has a bit of white discoloration or coloring on top of draping/ledge bottom as shown in pics. I've not attempted to clean this so unsure if it will clean up. Odor-free, no chips, broken pieces, and no rust. Pretty heavy for its size; just over 1 lb. Thanks for looking. Now for the fine print… I use the United States Postal Service (USPS) for all shipping.
