Up for sale is a small, hand painted Russian lacquer box depicting the figure of a man on horseback holding a long lance that is pointing to some writing on a rock.
It measures about 3"(7&1/2cm) long, 2&1/4" (5&1/2cm) wide and is 1&3/8" (3&1/2cm) high with the lid on.The box has writing in gold along the right and left hand sides of the lid, it is very small and I cannot read Russian, so I don't know if it is a title or signature or both.The interior is bright re...d, and the base of the box has gold borders that look a bit pink because they are reflecting my red camera. The lid is very snug.
Good Condition....no cracks or repairs, better looking than the photos as the shiny surface made it very difficult to photograph.
