You are looking at a 15" crosscut hand saw made in the USA by Henry Disston & Sons of Philadelphia, Pa. This saw is marked on the face of the blade with the familiar Disston scroll oval logo, and the number of the saw. It is readable with the naked eye. The blade on this piece has been shortened to 15" by a previous owner and sights nice and straight and features a SKEWED back, which 7's do not have, (Cut or Ground by a previous owner) a broad tip, and 11 points p...er inch with all the teeth intact and in good condition. The steel is clean and has a nice patina to it, but also has a few dark spots from previous oxidation. The handle on this saw is apple, that has a crack and a chipped out hoop (see pictures) and also does show usage and finish wear. The grip is still solid and has no play. The handle is held tight to the blade with three brass saw nuts, one of which holds the "H. Disston & Sons - PHILAD'A" medallion. Great For the user or the collector.
