Very interesting read as he was very active in writing and had very clear hand writing. He wrote down things like journal entries, accomplishments, important dates, addresses of his friends in the service, personal information, etc. A lot of pages are written on and reading it allows you to put yourself into his perspective. Also has two news paper clippings that describe military action on the field from h...is unit and important battles from the war.
Very good condition for the age of the book and what the soldier and book went through serviced in different parts of Europe during WW2
33 pages of the diary end of normal are completely filled out. 1st entry was October 8th, 1943 and the last diary entry was November 13th 1944. He details leaving Great Lakes for bootcamp, then to a marine base, then to a naval air station. Was made Seaman 1st class on May 1st 1944 and was made RDM 3/c on May 8th.
Truly a historical and personal relic from an American Soldier fighting in WW2
