This "Corona" "No.3" "Special" folding portable typewriter with its' case is in "as found" condition.The typewriter has retained much of its' original black and crackle finish gold paintwork, the colours still have a good depth, however, there are usual light marks and scuffs that you would associate with a machine of this age.The plated metal work has retained much of its' finish, but there are some minor surface blemishes in places.The gold lettering to the front and back table have... a good colour with only minor rubbing.All of the keys are present, the letters, numbers and symbols are still clear and legible, there are no chips or cracks to the keys, although some of the celluloid covers have discoloured.The type-heads hit the platen when the keys are depressed, the "Caps" and Fig" keys lift the carriage as they should.However, the carriage doesn't move along when typing or when the space bar is depressed, but does move both ways smoothly when carriage release is used.The typewriter folds down as it should.The typewriter has its' case, this has a key, brush and oiler.The catch works well, unfortunately, the front folding flap has been detached at some point.The case has some lovely travel labels to the bottom.
