See the other 451st Bomb Group photos that I have listed. Today I am listing the last of my 451st BG photos. Photo is from 2nd Lieutenant Samuel Kowalchuk of East Pate...rson, New Jersey. He was the bombardier on a B-24 Liberator Bomber of the 726th Bomb Squadron, 451st Bombardment Group, 15th Air Force based at Gioia Del Colle Airfield at Bari, Italy. He was awarded the Air Medal for meritorious service in combat. Initially Kowalchuk was in the 100th Division training at Fort Bragg, NC before he was selected for officers training in the AAF. He trained at the Bombardier School at Midland Army Airfield, Texas before being assigned to the 451st BG and heading to Italy. The 451st BG was based at Gioia Del Colle Airfield, Italy. SORRY.
