Up for bids with no reserve is this Antique Joseph Pickett New Hope PA Folk Art Log Cabin & Chickens Oil Painting. Recently found in an estate is this great painting by New Hope, Pennsylvania artist Joseph Pickett. In the bottom right corner the painting is signed by the artist. The painting is done in a folk art style depicting a log cabin which looks to be set on a farm. There are chickens pecking in the year, birds flying in the air, a garden in the ...backyard, and a happy dog sitting besides the front door. The painting measures 20" in width and is 16" in height. The frame measures 23 3/4" in width and is 19 3/4" in height. The painting is in great condition with a minor craquelure in a few areas and there is a light crease to the top right corner. I'm not quite sure if the frame is original. The gesso has some small chipping throughout.
