Item: An old dragon smoke stand made by the Scroll Art Company.Notes: Found with other ornate antiques at a nearby collector's estate. The stand is mostly made of cast iron, the ribbed portion of the stand may be made of brass; it is painted black with some dark green color; the bottom of the ashtray (that sits on top of the cast-iron cigar/cigarette ash cup) is marked, "Scroll Ar...t Co. Bridgeport Ct. Pat. Appl'd For"; there is partial remains of a decal label inside the area where matches would go; the bottom of the stand is marked, "Scroll Art Mfg. Co. (semi-legible part number?) B.Port Conn. Pat. Appl-D. For". The ash cup is removeable - it is held in place by the dragon claws, and spring loaded button at the bottom.Size: The height is about 31-1/12 inches tall; and the tripod base is about 10 to 11 inches wide (depending how it is measured). The area just below the dragon is about 8 inches round.Condition: Used condition - has minor rust / paint loss / scratches. The decal inside the match holder is worn. Still displays very well.
