A Rare, Early Transition Japan Cardboard 'Printie' House with the Very Early and Rare 'Gloss Top' Roof. House also has the Rare Trapezoid Angular Diamond Shaped Base that's approximately 6 1/4" long. All Printies and the Early Gloss Tops with Flat Bases were Candy Containers and almost all had a Clay Face Santa positioned in various places on these early houses. This house no longer has it's Santa, but I can see an area on the side corner of the house where one was originally glued. Re...d House with Blue Cello Windows, Sage Green Base, and a Great Robins Egg Blue and White Gloss Painted Roof with Sparkly Diamond Dust Mica. House is all original with no replacement parts. It has 2 very early 'pins' in the roof that are as old as the house. Not sure if it was factory to secure the roof, but they are as old as the piece, secure, and Untouched. Unusual Red Japan stamp...I've only had one other with this stamp. If you have an Early Japan Cotton Batting clay face santa, you'll have a great and rare example for your collection. Measures 6 1/4" long, 3 1/4" deep, by approximately 4" tall. In overall very good used Antique Vintage Condition. Aything due to Age, use, handling and storage over the years.
