For sale vintage, circa 1960's LOMO transformers for moving coil cartridges. Lomo (Kinap) is USSR (and now Russian) company with a great history established after 2nd World War. In audio world their famous microphones, speakers, preamplifiers etc can be found in professional studios all around the world. A passive step up transformer such as this LOMO is virtually distortion free, whereas the active phono stages comprised of transistors, or even tubes and trans...istors, not only tend to color and alter the sound, they also create distortion. The passive transformer like what I offer has almost immeasurable distortion. This transformers has a wonderful sound across the entire frequency band. Bass is full and rich, vocals are natural and lifelike and high are crisp but not sizzling or piercing. This is matched pairInput impedance (Z) 60 Ohm primary at 25hz Resistance of the the primary to DC approx 17 ohm Output Impedance (Z) 8K Ohm secondary at 25hz Resistance of the the secondary to DC approx 1600 ohm Coil has a central tap.4th picture shows suggested use of the transformer.Feedback resistor and capacitor on the diagram (pic. 4) is not necessary.
