Here for auction is a beautiful print by Kiyoshi Saito Studio of Tokyo.It is a color woodblock SIGNED in pencil and SEALED in red. It is named "BUNRAKU MAIKO" and depicts Maiko puppet in profile, her delicate white face and neck clearly defined against the grey woodgrained background and contrasted with the black gown with grey and white striping and green, yellow and red accents.Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997) is regarded as one of the great masters of Modern Japanese printmaking ...following the war in 1945 and the winner of many awards.This piece is nicely framed in a silver metal frame and matted in a complementary creamy colored mat. I only noticed when I took it outside to photograph that the print could be tightened in the area behind her head but I didn't notice it when it hung in the house and will let the next owner open it and smooth it if they wish.I pack carefully and ship next day.Thanks for looking.
