We recently came into possession of eight (8) vintage new-old-stock blue Atlantic City license plate toppers, which we are selling individually. We have three toppers left of the lot. These plates were made by the Advertising Plates Co., of Toledo, Ohio, and marked as such on the back.
PLEASE NOTE: Item is a reflective blue ...color which is why it may appear to be two shades of blue in our pictures. This is just from the lighting.
These plate toppers were found in the old stored inventory of a 1960's car parts store in unused condition. However, all show some minor defects consistent with what was apparently a rather low quality manufacturing process. A few have some bits of paper stuck to them, and all have some paint misses, chips, overspray and discoloration. All are in essentially the same condition. We will always choose the best example we have left when shipping. All of the other examples we have found of this item online show very similar condition issues to the ones we have. Apparently as novelty items, the manufacturer was not concerned with quality, but it will be evident that these items were never used. In a way, the defects add to the charm of these momentos of a simpler time.
