On the recent history of this tintype:
"A few years ago the curator of the Yale Music Collection contacted me about using a tintype from my collection in their upcoming gallery exhibition: 'Whirring Lathes, Dulcet Ton...es; Woodwind Making In Early 19th Century Connecticut And New York'. Needless, I agreed. The tintype is a favorite of mine. The tintype is of brothers, possibly twins, displaying their chosen instruments: a cello and a flute. From the looks of their garments, they may be part of a traveling orchestra, or just your average 19th century classical musician at play? Your guess is as good as mine."
