Antique 19th century c1880s/90s original oil painting. American. Hudson River School. Depicts a folk art scene of an island perched between mountains in the center of a river; presumably the Hudson River. Well done with nice capture of detail, light and depth. Medium is oil on canvas done in a primitive folk art style. Canvas affixed to wood stretcher bars with antique nails as opposed to staples. Signed by the artist H. Glaezer in the bot...tom right hand corner. Ready to hang.
Provenance comes from a large collection of art purchased from the estate of a southern Massachusetts art dealer.
In Acceptable/Fair overall condition due to a handful of small tears and puncture holes. Canvas remains taught and strong. Worthy of restoration but displays nicely as is. Displays handsomely.
