This beautiful Emerson Jr. fan was manufactured in the 1920s. It was built as a high quality, low cost fan. Very basic- It has 1 speed and a switch. The blades measure 9 inches across and the fan is 12 inches tall. The fan puts out a lot of air and is simple to operate. I normally restore the larger fans, but I found this one to be in really good condition.
The fan originally had steel blades. I replaced them with brass blades.
The restoration process removed a...ll components, repaired or replaced each worn or broken part. The motor winding was removed, checked and sealed with electrical varnish. The original paint was removed by sandblasting. A powder coat finish was added for a long lasting rust proof finish. The motor cord and line cord were replaced with new matching cloth covered wire.
