Bill Tury was very well known in Hollywood in his day. He was the head set designer for ABC television and several movie studios. He worked in the Art Department Crew on the Movie "The Robe" in 1953. While in Hollywood he painted Movie Stars Portraits. He worked with the Muppets designing sets for Sesame Street. He designed sets for Ceasar's Palace, Harrahs, the Roy Rogers Museum and the Ice Follies. One of the Ice Follies Reviews had this to say about Mr. Tury: In this opulent production number which features virtually the entire company, stage designer A. William Tury has outdone himself with the magnificence of the settings. Mr. Tury's problems are unique in the entertainment world because his settings not only must be put up and taken down swiftly, but also must be impressive enough to dominate the huge arenas in which the performances are held. In 1978 "Holiday On Ice" was on tour and here is what the Miami News had to say about Bill's talents: ...and from set designer Bill Tury, a Hawaiian Journey replete with erupting volcanoes, swaying palms and rainbows in the sky. A.William Bill Tury also worked on "Day on the Green" Concert Series Set Design at the Oakland Stadium, for Rock Promoter Bill Graham in the 1970's.
