1942 Chevrolet Special Deluxe SedanExtremely Rare, Last of the Pre-War ProductionOne Previous Owner !This beautiful survivor is a California Original, built in the Oakland California Chevrolet plant, and spent its life in Southern California. In February 1, 1942, by Government decree, the nations automobile assembly lines, came to a halt in favor of planes, tanks, and thousands of other implements of war. This very Chevrolet was buil...t February 1942 (Just two months after the attack on Pearl Harbor) the month General Motors stopped production and continues with "black out" models. General Motors stopped making civilian automobiles and switched to making vehicles for the war effort. This exact 1942 Chevrolet was one of very few made in that month. Production stopped and did not resume for over four years. There has been very few come up for sale and is highly collectable. This is a great investment opportunity. Clean, California title with current registration. I will guarantee "thumbs up" every time you drive this very original beauty.
Drive train: 216 Cubic Inch, Inline six cylinder. 90 HP. All original. Six volt system. Does not smoke or leak. Runs cool. Starts easily, runs smooth. 3 speed transmission. Shifts effortlessly and brakes as one should.
Exterior Finish: Ensign Blue. Older re-paint years ago in original color. Finish has a few scratches and small dings. Chrome and stainless in good condition. Some slight pitting and tarnish. All glass is good; no cracks.
Interior: Gray fabric. All original. Fabric does show some wear in spots. Seats, Carpets, Door Panels, headliner, all in remarkable condition. Most all gauges work with the exception of the Fuel gauge. Rear sliding quarter windows function properly.
This Chevrolet comes with the Original spare tire, wheel, jack and some spare parts as well.
