1870s Era Spanish Conquistador. Condition is Used. we placed this item in the pre 1700 category of military because it represents a Spanish conquistador of the 1520s. The entire outfit was made in the 1870s, in England, and is a very very good representation of a Spanish conquistador with all of the armor, shield, and three swords. To begin it has a Spanish style helmet, perhaps a bit later than the 1870s, probably turn of the last century, then additionally we have the breastpla...te, the neck armor and three swords, all of which are photographed, which makes up the bulk of the armor. We also have a back plate that is a partner to the front breast plate. then we have an original Victorian 1870s spanish-style doublet with trunk hose for pants and boots and a Victorian era cloak made of silk blend and wool that is spectacular. It also comes with a cross sash for the chest and tassel ties for the cloak, and as I say, three metal swords, all of which are Spanish in design. It is a wonderful museum-quality representation of a Spanish conquistador that has in fact been in a museum for quite some time. Some light surface rust, cleanable, but adds to the authentication, as their armour was often lightly rusted when they stepped ashore in America, after a month to cross the Atlantic. If you ever wanted a depiction of a Spanish conquistador in your home, this is the one. Whoever researched and put it together in the 1870s did a very accurate job.
