This is an interesting part of history.A handwritten later dated Jan 10, 1876Addressed to Alexander Turney Stewart in New York City. He was the 3rd richest man in the country at the time.A young woman named Susan A. Blinebry of Sherburn, Chenango Co. NY.She is asking for an $8000 loan to save the farm and improve it by imploring to his generosity.He died 3 months after this was sent, so I doubt the plea worked.Has the original envelope with period stamp.Nice for any Ephemera collection....
