We are pleased to offer for your consideration a previously owned and probably used VINTAGE WOODEN COFFEE MILL with CAST IRON HOPPER BOWL and CRANK HANDLE, made in the U.S.A. The dovetailed box is darker colored wood (our lighting may make it look lighter). A dovetailed wooden drawer has a round wooden handle and pulls out from the bottom section of the front. The bottom of this drawer is thick cardboard tacked into the bottom of the drawer's sides. It works in a...nd out easily. The top is the same wood with a black cast iron hopper bowl, tension adjustment knob, and crank handle. The bowl has a decorative raised design all around the outer edge and base. The cast iron crank handle turns the cast iron grinder inside. There is a wooden knob at the end of this handle. In the back right corner of the top near the bowl there is a tension screw with cast iron knob that is in good working condition. In the opposite corner near the bowl is another screw which is holding the iron to the wood. The wooden box measures approximately 5" tall x approx. 6" square, base is approx. 7 1/4" x 7"; 7" tall to the top of the bowl; approx. 9 1/2" tall to the top of the handle's wooden grip. The wooden box is in good condition for its age, solidly put together with no loose parts. It does have surface scratches, scrapes, and some areas of discoloration. Sadly, the drawer is in pretty poor condition. Part of the wood in front is broken off and missing, plus there is damage around the wooden handle and some of the dovetailing at the bottom corners. All of the cast iron is in good condition with no damage, but it was originally painted black, and some of that paint is missing, scratched off by use. The box is not labeled or marked so we do not know the maker or age, but it appears to be quite old.
