Authentic Machine Age Jakob Bengel Necklace. This style of necklace is named 'Mauerwerk' (masonry/brick pattern), reflecting the way the parts fit together, similar to building bricks.This necklace originally had black enamel applied to some of the 'bricks', to create a pattern. This has now faded. However, the necklace can be worn reversed, if preferred, as the chrome is in excellent condition.Part of my collection. Excellent vintage condition. Design 1931 -1933. Has... the large bolt ring fastener, typical of Jakob Bengel jewellery. Also a ring marked 'Garantie', which is found on some original Jakob Bengel necklaces. This reflects the fact that Jakob Bengel necklaces were originally sold with a guarantee. Very Art Deco in its design and a stylish necklace. Length of necklace: Approx 42.5cm.
