Presented is an antique c. 1880s brooch made of metal with a gilt finish. This is a fun acrostic brooch where the first letter of each “stone” (in this case, paste) spells out the word “dearest” (diamond, emerald, amethyst, ruby, emerald..., sapphire, topaz). The stones are collet set and hang from lengths of foxtail chain from a bar of twisted design. It has its original brooch findings.
