Up for auction is a superb Chinese Export solid silver PUMPKIN FORM 8 PANELLED teapot, signed c.1900.This highly detailed teapot has 8 PANELS of scenes. TWO are BATTLE SCENES, TWO are PLUM BLOSSOM and FOUR are BAMBOO. All scenes are highlighted against a crisp matted background. There are large, well detailed applied leaves, these overlap some of the scenes. The SPOUT has a large DRAGON FACE. There is a decorative NATURALISTIC handle, lid and finial. The fine CHASING and ENGRAVING cove...r every bit of the teapot, even the underside (see picture #10).The teapot is fully and clearly signed by the maker, CHINA c.1900.THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST CHINESE EXPORT SILVER TEAPOTS I HAVE OWNED.The teapot MEASURES overs 13cm tall x approx 22.5cm tip of spout to end of handle. The teapot weighs 586 grams (18.8 troy ounces).CONDITION : LOVELY CRISP DETAIL TO THE EXTENSIVE SCENES.
