Alpine 7903 Car Stereo Head Unit. Single CD player. AM / FM Radio with presets. Vintage Pull-out Design.
Fully functional head unit that I purchased new in 1990 and removed from a vehicle that I sold in 1996. It's been sitting idle since then, but I finally decided to part with it (I'm the original owner). Condition is "Used".
I just bench tested it and it still works great! This was one of Alpine's high-end units, back in the day. Cosmetically it looks very good, wit...h very minor signs of wear. I took good care of it.
The head unit is a slide in/out design (theft deterrent design that predates removable faceplates). The empty metal chassis with wiring that you see in the photos mounts into the dashboard (standard DIN sizing), and the head unit slips in/out of the chassis. The flip-up handle on the head unit (see photo) is used to insert/remove head unit from dashboard when desired.
Also included: Original owners manual. Sample photos shown.
Also included: Chassis that mounts into dashboard, with complete wiring harness. Note that the manual gives complete connection instructions (and the individual wires are labeled), which eliminates guesswork during installation. See photos.
Note that this is a head unit that provides a "line out" signal that requires a separate power amplifier to power your speakers (i.e. it's a pre-amp). It has outputs for two pairs of speakers (a front pair and a rear pair) and there's a F/R fader control to adjust the F/R balance.
See the photo of manual "controls" page to get an overview of the basic features on this unit.
Great head unit for an older vintage car that deserves a period-correct stereo. Your bitchin' Camaro will love it! Rock on \m/
