Vintage Lionel prewar standard gauge blue comet set in good original condition! Some scratches and paint wear throughout the whole set. One of the cars is missing one grab rail. I don't know if the engine runs but the wheels turn freely. This could use a good servicing. The cab roof has been repainted and the frame also has been repainted. The locomotive is missing the front railing but I will include a MTH repro for the buyer to put on. One of the air tanks has broken as seen in pic. ...The other one is a reproduction (which you can still buy today) The locomotive has a RARE chugger switch so I suspect that it has a original chugger unit inside. Some of the cars is missing a chair or two but you can also buy reproduction chairs. The cars have stamped journals. I do not think that the railing on the tender is correct. You don't see original sets like this come up for sale even with a chugger switch!! Frame is perfect with no cracks or breaks! Boiler paint is all original. One or two tiny dents are on the roofs on the cars but hardly noticeable. Some slight rust throughout the set but can clean off easily. I will include the piece that broke off the boiler cap!
