Vintage BUFFET CRAMPON R13 Bb ClarinetEarly version of R13 - Serial # 59174 (circa 1959)(The bore design of this early version is the basis for the 'Vintage' model Buffet, discontinued in 2014.)
PROFESSIONAL OVERHAUL: Cleaned inside and out; bore was oiled with sweet almond oil. Silver-plated German silver keys ultrasonically cleaned and hand-buffed; all rods and screws ultrasonically cleaned and mechanisms oiled. Spring tensions adjusted; several springs replaced.&...nbsp; All new cork pads on upper joint; kangaroo leather pads on lower joint. New tenon corks; new key corks. Fully play adjusted.
Original case also restored; re-glued, re-upholstered; exterior is in very good used condition. Original case cover is in good used condition; new zipper pulls.

FULL DISCLOSURE: This is my 'Back-up to the Back-up' instrument. I bought it used in early 1980's and played it for several years. While undergoing an overhaul during that period, an overzealous 'technician' decided to remove the register pip and subsequently cracked the upper joint. My new woodwind tech (!!) then expertly glued and pinned the crack (See pics 8 & 9 for close-up) and it served me for another decade. The repair is actually less noticeable than the pics indicate; however, I want the purchaser to understand that it has been repaired. It has been completely overhauled and plays very well, with a special warmth of instruments of the early R13 era. Pics 10 & 11 show close-ups of the cork and leather pads and their seats.
I hate to let it go, but.....you can only play one at a time! Please check out the pics to see the repair; it has been stable since being pinned. This clarinet is offered at a low starting price because of the repair.
