This is a very nice Singer short bed 301 sewing machine, serial # NA011040, which puts it in year 1952.

This is a slant shank machine. The first slant shank model made by singer. The slant makes it easier to see your stitching. The 301 is a straight stitch only machine but what a fantastic stitch it makes! She can stitch 6-30 stitches per inch and when lever is pushed up, stitches backwards effortlessly. For quilter's you have the ability to completely drop the feed dogs for freeform quilting. Take it to classes as the 301 is made to be portable with a built in handle!
Installed is a "new" original shuttle race, replaced tire for bobbin winding, "new" original light assembly and some new grey bed cushions. Completely cleaned, greased, oiled and finished with a nice coat of carnauba wax to protect the aging finish. The gold patterned decal on her is the Paperclip design and is in very good condition. The overall finish is in good shape but it does have wear, please look at the photo's carefully. She comes as you see her with the owner's manual and box of accessories. The original foot pedal/power cord are in good shape. This machine looks great for being 69 and in a barn for years. She is going to sew effortlessly for many years to come.
** When I got this machine it was unusable as someone had installed the wrong hook/race and then must have tried to sew...it was a solid, rusted mess. Once this was fully cleaned and restored it has sewn the best stitches of all 7 of the machines I have been working on. I have used it for a few quilting projects and it works amazing.
