This is a rare vintage (1930s-60's) hand painted model of a human eye which was hand painted in Japan. The eye can be opened to reveal the inner parts of the eye and the lens. All the parts of the eye are numbered, but the identification booklet has been lost to time. This is the perfect gift for an ophthalmologist, eye doctor or optician. The item cons...ists of the base, a stainless steel rod, the outer eye which hinges open and has many connected small nerve wires which are all intact, the blue 'iris' inner eye section which comes apart into two pieces. then the inner lens and the inner vitreous body with attached optic nerve. very detailed, retro and cool.
