This is a such a beautiful brooch. A 19th century amethyst gemstone brooch, absolutely stunning.
The colour is a deep, rich and opulent purple. You can see what appear to be natural formations in the gemstone, it's quite wonderful.
...A generous size, I would say medium, piece of amethyst gemstone, very beautiful, surrounded by tested, unmarked 9ct yellow gold that is beautiful with a fine border of seed pearls.
The amethyst measures 16.5mm by 15.5mm wide approximately. The gemstone shows some pink in certain light, beautiful.
This has the look and feel of a good quality piece of jewellery from the 19th century.
