Up for sale is the highly sought after Marantz Model 7 Tube Preamplifier in Wood Case. The six tubes included in the preamp are all Telefunken ECC83 tubes (pic #3).
Cosmetically it is in excellent condition with clean faceplate and wood case. The only blemish on the wood case is a small chip on the front above the "Marantz Stereo Console" sign. Please see pictures for all the cosmetic details.
Functionally the preamp is in fully working condition. It ...was tested in conjunction with a Marantz 2252B receiver (NOT INCLUDED) connected to the 2252B's "Main in" jacks. All inputs were tested and working. The Volume and Balance potentiometers were clean with DeOxit Gold to remove scratchiness and bad contact as well as lubricating the controls. The sound is excellent with the fabled warmth from vacuum tubes.
This preamp is 100V version (for Japanese market) and requires a 120V to 100V step down converter which IS INCLUDED with the purchase. The step down converter ensures that this preamp will be enjoyed for a long time. It will be packed in fitted foam packaging and shipped via FedEx with insurance.
