Here's a mid-1960's Rek-O-Kut Rondine 2 transcription turntable. This is a stereo turntable, with its original Rek-O-Kut tonearm and a Shure cartridge. The turntable comes from a private audio engineering museum in western North Carolina, and it's one of dozens of vintage audio items from the museum that I'll... be listing over the next few months. I'm offering these pieces "as found." Most of them work, but some don't. In all cases, I'll try to provide an accurate assessment of electrical condition and suitability for use based on limited testing. I don't have the time, energy or skill to repair the pieces that aren't working, so please read the descriptions carefully to make sure you get what you're expecting.
Cosmetic condition of the turntable, tonearm and cartridge is excellent. Operating condition appears to be excellent too. The turntable was checked out for about an hour with a pair of JBL C-40 Harkness speakers powered by early Luxman tube gear. It sounds really good, but no testing that requires specialized instrumentation (ie, wow and flutter, stylus inspection) has been undertaken, nor are any assurances being made that everything will operate "as new." The turntable is almost 60 years old, so needless to say it hasn't been "as new" since the first Apollo moonshot. In turn, it may not still be completely to spec, whatever that spec may be. Mechanically, it works fine. Auto-start and tonearm return are both functional and reliable.
Shipping weight will be about 45 lb. The phonograph will be properly packed and double-boxed. I use only new packaging, not boxes I've fished out of the local Walmart dumpster.
