CharlestonSweet Grass Basket sea gullah handle vintage attached lid SouthCarolinaYouare bidding on a lovely Gullah sweet grass basket from Charleston.Based on the coloring, I'm guessing this basket to be from the 50's.It measures about 11” tall x 9” across including the handles. Thebasket has a few missing wraps on the lid, one where the handle meetsthe side of the basket, and 2 on the bottom edge of the basket. Theloops are fashioned from a row on the lid and one on the handle, cl...everly woven together. You can see that there a are a few wrapsmissing on the top loop on one side, I've always just faced that sideto the back. For a basket this age, it's in excellent condition!Ebay would not accept some of the pictures, I will take more during the daylight.
