1863 Catawissa Railroad Stock Receipts ImperfRevenue Stamp Civil War Era January 10This is an interesting document for thesale or transfer of shares of stock in the Catawissa Railroad in Pennsylvania.The Catawissa was a small but significant railroad, spanning 100 miles ofdifficult terrain with tunnels, bridges, etc. The document is dated January 10, 1863 and measures approx. 3 ½” x 8”. Ithas a very nice imperforate 25 cent Power of Attorney revenue (this is an earlyus...age), pen cancelled in ink with the same date as the document. The stamp wasrequired to help finance the cost of the Civil War. Stamps and documents are invery nice condition. Winning bidder pleaseadd 1.50 US shipping.
