Commodore Amiga 500 Motherboard - Lot 2. Tested and Working. Bottom RF Shield included.
If you plug in a 512K memory expansion, this Amiga 500 motherboard will have 512K Chip memory and 512K of Fast memory. Most Amiga games and software will run on this computer just fine. I recommend NOT installing Kickstart 2.04 or 3.1 if you want to maintain software compatibility. Commodore produced and sold the Amiga computers for about 9 years. The first 5 o...f those 9 years were the OCS and Kickstart/Workbench 1.2 and 1.3. Most Amiga software, especially the games, were programmed and sold during those first five years. So, what does this mean? It means that most Amiga software and games were programmed to run on a STOCK Amiga 500 or 2000 computer, with the OCS and Kickstart/Workbench 1.2 or 1.3. My first Amiga 500 computer had a revision 5 motherboard. It had 512K of Chip memory and 512K of Fast memory. All Amiga software and about 99% of all Amiga games ran beautifully on the computer. So, do not let the egomaniacs tell you that you have to have a revision 6 or higher motherboard, because they are wrong. The Amiga 500 is the number one selling and most popular Amiga model. It blows the doors off the Amiga 1200 as far as design, quality, and Amiga software compatibility. Also, the Amiga 500 is a real Amiga computer, whereas the Amiga 1200 is an Amiga clone.
NOTE: I will NOT lower the price on this Amiga 500 motherboard. Revision 5 Amiga 500 motherboards have recently sold for $180.00 or higher here on eBay. Also, the chips alone sell for $25 to $45 each, depending on the chip. So, my asking price is fair. Due to age, this motherboard is sold as-is.
