Commodore 64 Computer / 1541 Disk Drive / MSD Disk Drive Bundle.
This bundle includes:1 Commadore 64 computer with the original box. Serials match between the box and unit. Box still has the K-mart price tag on it.1 1541 Disk Drive1 MSD Super Disk Drive - This was the bomb aftermarket drive back in the dayAll cables and power supplies to hook everything up2 joysticks2 user manuals and 1 programming guideAround 50 disks with all kinds of games and utilities- but mostly games.Set of 4... new ram chips to repair the unit (Decided I didn't want to deal with it in the end)Keyboard unit powers on with the 'out of memory error'. (See picture)Both drives power on fine. Worked when packed away 30+ years ago. I have no reason to think they wouldn't work now. But cannot test with the current keyboard unit.
I am the original owner of this unit and the drives. I bought them all new when I was a wee lad. I have been dragging them around for 30+ years with the intent to fix and use again. Always stored indoors in air conditioned spaces. Decided I truly don't have the desire to fix it and play with it anymore. Just want to clear out space now. So one mans trash is another mans treasure.
The last time I used it many moons ago, it got the dreaded 'out of mem' error, which it still displays today. Looks like I opened it up and retouched the solder on the ram chips. This used to be a quick fix for bad solder joints. Looks like I left out the case screws and I don't see them in the box. So the original case screws of the keyboard unit are missing. Everything else is there as it should be.
It got packed way when I discovered cars and girls. The drives worked at the time they were packed away and should still work today. But everything is untested, other than powering up, and is sold as is. All pictures are current and represent current condition.
I tried to put as much detail as possible about everything in the bundle. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me with them.
