Vintage Apple iMac G3 600Mhz Blue Dalmation computer
This is a working and tested iMac in the special "Blue Dalmation" case which is a rare variation on the usual iMac G3 product line. Most were made with a solid color, however this "Blue Dalmation" and "Flower Power" were two "special editions" with increased processing power. This particular computer has the original 40GB ATA hard drive, and the memory has been increased to 512MB with 2 PC-100 DIMMs of 256MB each. The video displa...y is bright and clear. The case is in very good condition, no cracks, and like many of this model, there is a slight color fading in the upper left and right edges of the "dalmation" color scheme. OS X 10.3 Panther is loaded on this system. The original power cord and "blue base" keyboard are included, along with a newer white Apple mouse.
PLEASE NOTE: There is one flaw in this computer: the CD-RW drive does not work. It is present in the hardware, but it does not accept a CD-ROM. There are numerous Youtube videos on removing and replacing these but I do not want to get into something I am not qualified to deal with.
Note too that this iMac does not have an Airport WiFi card installed, but you could add one. However, the old Airport cards operate with 802.11b standards, and many routers today do not support that older 'b' mode of operation. This iMac is best used with direct Ethernet wiring.

In addition to "funky" case design options -- which proved not to be particularly popular -- the iMac G3/500 (Early 2001 - Indigo/Flower Power/Blue Dalmation) and iMac G3/600 Special Edition (Early 2001) models brought substantial performance improvements to the iMac line, with faster PowerPC 750cx (G3) processors with on-chip level 2 caches, faster graphics with more VRAM (16 MB), and CD-RW drives.
The iMac G3/600 Special Edition is similar to the iMac G3/500 (Early 2001 - Indigo/Flower Power/Blue Dalmation) model released at the same time, but the "Special Edition" has a faster processor and shipped with twice as much RAM (128 MB) and twice the hard drive storage (40 GB). Both of these "Early 2001" models were offered in "Flower Power" and "Blue Dalmatian", but only the 500 MHz model was available in "Indigo" and only the 600 MHz model was available in "Graphite".
