Presented is very ornate, solid silver covered butter dish! The piece was made in Hanau, Germany by the famous silversmith firm of Storck & Sinsheimer. Was made in late 1800s! The piece is made of 92.5% or .925 purity solid sterling silver. Gilt interior! Properly hallmarked underneath. The dome top is all finely decorated with repousse village scenery, depicting cherubs playing and dancing. The base has pierced and repousse decorations all around the border. The piece seems to be ...in rarely used condition! Super clean, minimal age wear. Never had any monograms. We listed it without polishing or cleaning it, as it came fresh out of a private estate. Overall very clean, needs light polishing and washing the old silver polish out of the decoration crevasses. Measures 3.5" tall x 7.5" wide. Weighs 553 grams.
