This is a 61 year’s young 1958 Schwinn Red Phantom. Condition is gorgeous, shiny and gently used But like new condition and all original. The chrome is amazing and almost flawless like new. this was repainted and re chromed by licensed Schwinn phantom anniversary painters at the factory in 1995 while making the 100 year anniversary phantoms. All additions, lights, Bell, battery pack, all have a protective padding between added extras and paint so they do not damage paint from install...ing light and bell. This is a museum quality all original Red Phantom One upgrade, and included is the original like new Bendex hub, added was a like new 1960 Bendex high low pedal kickback shifter just kick pedal back like you are going to break but it shifts to a low or high gear making it easier to go uphill and faster downhill The Original Bendex hub and spokes are included. my grandfather is original owner from purchase and kept it as a collectible to pass on to me. this extremely rare example of the famous Red Phantom is completely original from tank horn, fender and light to bolts and nuts. The only thing that is not original is the two screws holding badge on, the electric wiring to front headlight and rear light. This original light is like new and installed at the same time of purchase 1958. The taillight and headlight set is a rare 1958 HC Higgins and looks like new and both lights work as shown in picture. Tank horn works and push button bell ringer also is NOS and works perfect The saddle also is original but leather was redone by Schwinn and has original stamp. My grandfather had connections with the staff at the Chicago factory they made the 100 year phantom anniversary model and had them do the paint, saddle and any chrome that didn’t look new. Even the original price tag is included . So this bike looks showroom New is all original NOT pieced together but the original parts from purchase. Also the saddle bags are from same time. July 4th of 1958. This bike could be on a movie set. Selling because of funds needed for emergency surgery I was offered 4, 500 from Warner brothers studio years ago as a prop but couldn’t part with it. Who’s the I lucky new owner.Will be professionally shipped and protected for safe transport by my local pro shop. You will not find another all original red phantom with like new chrome from top to bottom. Just a few small nicks on paint but very few. nothing easy to see looks like it’s in the showroom with original price tag and dealer spec sheet please note my ten year buying and selling perfect record of almost 2, 000 perfect transactions with 10o percent perfect feedback and ten years on EBay.
