Beautiful and rare tooth of an extinct toothed wh. al. e, , from the middle Miocene of California.This specimen belongs to an undescribed species and was collected at Shark Tooth Hill, near Bakersfield, Kern County, California. These are sometimes referred to as "Prosqualodon", but that genus does not occur in the US. The teeth would also be morphologically different.Please see pictures. Great color!
