Made To A Very High Standard! And In Very Good Condition For Its Age
Circa 1880's
The Exterior: The Top Has An Ornately Decorated & Recessed Bass Handle, With A Brass Key Guide, Beautifully Tooled 'Morocco' Leather With A Detailed Design. In Very Good Condition For Its Age With General Wear Around The Edges Commensurate To Age And Use (as per images).
The Interior: Shows Its Mahogany Construction And Is Leather Covered. Also Home To Compartments Including A Pen Tray, Letter Compartment, Indexing Tray, Pen/Pencil Rack, Stationary Loose Tray, Compartment For Glass Inkwell Which Is Present And In Good Order, With Brass Cap, Two Pencil Wipe Clean Note Plates (possibly celluloid), Etc. The Small Brass Latch For Letter Compartment Isn't Performing But Would With A Little Effort.
With Quality Closed Brass Hinges.
The Lock Remains But No Key.
It Open And Closes With No Issues
Either Open Or Closed Its Highly Decorative, , Recently Waxed And Polished So Looking Particularly Nice.
