From David Wenzel, this beautiful 1980’s poster of Gandolf and Bilbo from Lord of the Rings, was published by eclipse comics to showcase Winsel’s fine work in the medium and to prepare for an adaption of the famous Tolkien books, intended for publication in the early 1980s.David’s use of line and color is at its finest in this beautiful poster, a major addition to the Tolkien imagery that so many fine artists have participated in translating. Lord of the Rings is a classic and Da...vid’s work matches it scene for scene Word for Word with the beauty of brush and paint. The poster is in excellent shape before it’s almost 30 year age without where tears pinholes or any sort of damage, Its colors are bright its blacks are sharp and the surface gloss is intact all these years later because it has been stored flat in a file and never displayed are used in anyway.
