Rare Vintage 1950s SAN DIEGO STATE COLLEGE Pendleton Stadium Blanket w/ Fringe
I suspect this is a very rare piece dating to the 1950s or before, and it's in rough shape so needs some love and restoration or just use it and enjoy it for what it is. Found previously washed and with several stains, I put it through a wash after allowing it to ...soak, and some of the stains washed out. Pilling and some dog hair still exist - I've pulled what I can out but I guarantee there are still stray hairs no matter how many times I work it. When I washed it, I didn't block the logo to keep it flat / round as it dried, so another wash to do that and pull any final staining out is probably smart here. There are some areas where the red dye in the wool either washed out or was bleached - I'm unsure if that can be corrected or not. The fringe is all intact, there are no holes or significant damage otherwise to note. I suspect this spent time as a pet blanket, or sat on a chair where a dog or cat often slept. San Diego State College became a University, part of the UC system, in 1960, so this blanket must pre-date that. Measures about 44" wide and 66" long including the fringe.
