Originally made for the Disney Channel, THE COLOR OF FRIENDSHIP is a heartwarming drama based on the true story of a young African girl who learns to cope with racism and her own prejudices during a stay in America. However, the story is the inverse of what one might expect from the premise. Set in 1977, the film follows Ron V. Dell...ums, an African-American Congressman who volunteers to take in a South African exchange student. Expecting a black student, Dellums soon finds out that their student is really white, and a product of apartheid, no less, who has been raised to treat black people as inferiors.
