Description Her...e is an original EARLY model 1955 VINTAGE (I BELIEVE made March 1956 The serial number is appears to be V50397) HARD to find ladies SCHWINN CORVETTE beach cruiser bicycle with 26" wheels. It is in the original and very appealing opalescent RED colored factory paint. If you like UNIQUE unrestored original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! *This bike has a cool ladies cruiser style frame and forks with original paint and decals, large Schwinn head badge, original screen Corvette "hockey stick" style chainguard, cool CRASH RAIL cruiser style seat, (looks to be made by Messinger, Has a loose spring on the bottom) "AS" (Arnold Schwinn) seat post clamp, wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn script hand grips, full fenders, (have dents) unique bow pedals, (show age) super cool MAYWEG front carrier rack, and more! I believe this bike to be mostly all original parts from when it was new. (see pics and be your own judge)*The Schwinn Corvette is one of the most legendary Schwinn bikes of all time! Names after the iconic Chevrolet Corvette of the 1950s! Every kid wanted one, few were lucky enough to get one! Have fun with this or display it next to your Corvette Stingray! Crazy part... you NEVER see the ladies Schwinn Corvette bikes! Many were "parted out" and used to build mens bikes. Many ladies bought the lower cost Hollywood bikes and you rarely see these. I looked on ebay via the completed and live listings and could not find another ladies Corvette bike! I hope you enjoy this! Would be FUN for you to have a pair of them!
*The tires are 26x1 3/4". They are vintage slightly newer replacement WIDE WHITEWALL tires and do hold air. The bike has factory chrome Schwinn S-7 rims front and rear.
*The bike is an original THREE SPEED and the gears do operate. The hand controlled brakes are operable as well. (may need adjustment or possible cable replacement)
*DIMENSIONS The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 21 1/2". The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.
*NOTED FLAWS I got this one basically just like you see it. I LOVE original paint bikes! The paint looks ok for a 50+ year old bike! (has chips, scratches, wear, etc) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). This bike is SO cool and cant wait to be enjoyed once again! IF you EVER think you would enjoy a bike like this, DO NOT MISS OUT! This is only the 2nd bike like this I personally have ever owned!
