Fine 19th Century Signed Chinese Bronze Smoker's Tobacco Pipe.Beautifully decorated with fine floral engraved detailing & the flat disc terminal engraved with seated figures, signed with character marks to both sides of the projecting vertical stem just below the bowl as pictured. (see images 10, 11 & 12)Condition is truly excellent with only very light age associated wear & with a wonderful uncleaned patina to the bronze.I think the two tubes either side of the hanging brass lidded s...ide box should have tools of some sort in them, but they are no longer present.The removable mouthpiece is not bronze, it appears to be some kind of vulcanite or early composite material.Beautiful pipe in excellent order & offered with no reserve.Size: 30.2cm high, base measures 7.5cm x 6.5cm.Weight: 473 grams.See all 24 images.
