Original Description:
Sasieni introduced town names in place of shape numbers c.1920's and into the 1930's became some of the most sought after English pipes known for their incredible dry smoking characteristics. This one called the "Marlborough" is a classic Lovat and was probably made in the late 1940's-1950's. About a Group 4 in size it sports a perfectly formed Billiard style bowl with thick walls, chamfered rim and a relatively modest chamber yet still affords plenty of capacity. At only 27g it is inc...redibly lightweight and very well balanced. The shank is long and round however flat on the bottom making for a very fine setter. Stem is original vulcanite saddle with slight fishtail bit and four dots in a diamond pattern, lovely indeed. The natural finish is a warm and inviting medium stain while the grain displays starburst on the left radiating to the front and rear with super fine cross grain while the right shows tons of tiny birdseye. Overall clean throughout, this Sasieni is ready to smoke and will not disappoint!

Condition: Excellent. Chamber is clean and sound showing a touch of reaming. Rim and bowl have some minor scratches/handling marks. Stem is beautiful with just a touch of buffing wear. Overall superb! Weight: 27g
