This is a Japanese made Yonezawa Talking Robot with Missiles in near mint condition with the Japanese issue box. The robot itself in in really nice cosmetic condition with no visible play wear and is fully functional. The toy is manufactured primarily of hard plastic; the chest plate made of brightly lithographed tin. Press the yellow button on top of his head and he speaks a Japanese phrase. The speech is produced by a small internal vinyl record and is not electronically generated. P...lease note that although the robot is fully functional it appears to produce more screeching noise than normal, and as a vintage toy is sold as is. These particular robots are easy to open up and the application of a little electrical contact spray on the motor and lubrication of the gears may solve the issue. Box has some creasing and age related wear but is still in good conditio with no tears or punctures. Two C cell batteries are required for operation (not included).
On Jun-25-21 at 15:18:35 PDT, seller added the following information:I've found out that that the application of a drop of light oil to the motor shaft at both ends of the motor will eliminate the 'scheeching' noise. The following is from Marco, a vintage robot dealer based in the Netherlands. He's describing a Yonezawa Piston robot of the same vintage with the same motor so this is a realively common issue: "The condition is unplayed with and the robot must have spent most of his life in the box... the motor needed some oil at the axle because it produced too much decibels in action (screaming), a drop of special oil on the top and bottom of the motors axle does miracles!"
