Pair of vintage Alaskan Eskimo Yup'ik dance fans. These are made of woven grass and caribou fur. I purchased these at an estate sale and have no record of their history. All I know is that they are dance fans made by the Yup'ik people of Alaska and are at least 30 years old and could possibly be older.They look like they have been used and show signs of wear. The caribou hair has become brittle and looks to have broken off in some places. The fur has become fragile due to age.... They are still beautiful and usable in their vintage state and would make a great add to anyone's collection. Please refer to images for details.
Dimensions: Approximately 13" L by 8"W with fur. Woven grass disk diameter is 2.5"
