For auction is a four piece Noritake art deco jam set in the very sought after "Jewels" pattern. The set consists of the jam jar, lid, spoon, and underplate. The set measures 5 1/2 inches in height, the underplate is 5 1/2 inches wide, and the spoon is about 5 1/4 inches long. The jar, spoon, and underplate are all marked with the green Noritake Komaru back stamp. The jam jar has remnants of an old paper label as shown in photo 12.
Condition: There... are no chips, cracks, or repairs.
There is gold wear to the center area of the underplate which corresponds to the base of the jam jar resting on the underplate for 95 or so years. (See photo 7.) *This gold wear does not show when the set is assembled.* Also 3 "corners" of the underplate have very minor gold wear as shown in photo 10.
The spoon has wear to the gold on the handle at the spot where the spoon handle was rubbed by the lid. See photos 8 and 9. *This wear does not show when the set is assembled.*
The gold on the jar is excellent.
