Discontinued years ago and exceedingly rare find. #320 / 333ever produced worldwide. In excellent condition and maintainedsuperbly by a VSA super-collector. Recent servicing and new crystalinstalled. There is only one small blemish on the case PVD. All remaining is intact, which I have not seen on any of the several othercomparable models that have been listed over the past several years, those allhad significant damage to the case finish and crystal. Very likely not abetter example anywhere.

Featuring cluttered dial and an oversized body, the new VictorinoxSwiss Army AirBoss Mach 6 Power Gauge doesn’t look like a very practical wristwatch.However, the way it is designed and the way its mechanical movement is finishedmakes it a very nice fashion accessory for those who always dreamed aboutaccomplishing a tour of duty on a real aircraft carrier.
Established many years ago, this series of fine, yet more or less affordablewatches is said to be inspired by modern aircraft carriers’ control rooms andis dedicated to the Swiss Air Force, although the small country doesn’t havemaritime borders and, naturally, they don’t have any aircraft carrierwhatsoever.
Like other modern pilot’s watches, the Victorinox AirBoss Mach 6 Power Gaugefeatures a PVD coated stainless steel case with luminescent segments on itsface, bezel and hands (in fact, the only element that lacks the Supeluminova treatmentis the tiny date indicator at 4 o’clock).
The 45mm case nests the famous Valjoux 7750 self-winding automatic chronographmovement. Equipped with a personalized oscillating weight and sportingblued screws, the robust and reliable caliber can be see via see-throughscrew-in caseback.
The movement is, by the way, nicely decorated with Geneva stripes and bluedscrew heads and features an open-worked oscillating weight with the brand’ssignature shield.
The Mach 6’s screw-down crown increases the timepiece’s water resistance to 100meters: practical enough if you don’t plan to use this watch for professionaldiving.
